The song left President Uhuru Kenyatta overjoyed at the Nyayo Stadium during the Jamhuri Day celebrations, and now kambua is singing it loud and clear. But we all know Kambua is a gospel artists who also adds up as a host on Citizen TV and Hot 96 radio station. Her shows are both gospel. How comes then that the singer had decided to plunge herself into secular and sing vehemently about Sura yako? Well, Kambua meant not offense. She found it irresistible to sing for her beautiful mother as she shared a photo of the two smiling beautifully. She simply had to tell her mum these sweet words: Sura yako mzuri mama! Here is what Kambua shared:

Ever since this gospel group made their entry into the Kenyan music scene, they have always served us with hits. Hits that I usually find deejays playing shamelessly in clubs because the songs are just too good.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-Wd8YOSWEk

Beautiful top Kenyan gospel artiste, Kambua, through her blog recently shared with her fans, what she terms as the most terrifying and life-threatening incident she has ever gone through.
Although her mind has managed to block out this terrible memory, she shares this story from what her family told her over the years.

"I thank God that my mind has up until this day blocked away the whole traumatic experience and even what I am sharing with you is a recount of what my family shared with me concerning that night.
For three months, I was admitted in hospital with third degree burns. The doctors despaired... there was little hope for me. But God still had a plan for my life. God saved me from the sting of death, and in spite of what the doctors feared, I began my slow but steady journey to recovery.
Due to the damage caused on my skin by the burns, the doctors suggested that my family take me for plastic surgery, but before a decision could be made, th ... Read more »

The one thing I have learnt as I have been working on this song is...In everything, give thanks! And I have every reason to be thankful because I am a living testimony of God's faithfulness. Yule Yule was a song that Gidi and I did through a difficult time because we had just discovered that I had a huge lump that was growing in my throat. It was hard to trust that God in some scary moments like when the biopsy did not clear me of cancer. I was also told I might not be able to sing again cause it was growing just next to my vocal cords; that was the lowest moment for me. But God was right there encouraging us and His grace was sufficient! I came out of it, cancer free and got my voice back gradually. So When I sing 'Sifa zote Baba Chukua" I mean it! He gets the glory, He gets the praise because I don't take my life for granted. I dedicate this song to my Heavenly Father who has been so faithful, and He is still teaching me to trust Him in those tough and scary situations that come my w ... Read more »

While there have been many songs on this projected that have reflected on our need for God and our issues and expectations that are yet to be met, this week's song has taken a new, energizing angle.

The genre is different! (With 52 weeks of songs, surely, we must shake things up a little! Hehehe) ...but more so the MESSAGE is different. This is a determination song. Almost like Job (in the Bible) saying, "Though He slay me, yet will I praise Him". It's a song that speaks of following Christ as He enables, and no-matter what! Song titled... SOLDIER!!!" - @MercyNjoki254
